COACH'S CORNER #1

This week's topic is for our new Rage players and serves as a reminder to returning players. One problem I see with new players joining our team is that they are afraid to make mistakes. So, they decide to hold back and "TRY" not to make mistakes. HOLDING BACK is a BIG MISTAKE! The answer is YES YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES and holding back will not prevent you from making mistakes. In fact, holding back will cause you to make more mistakes. At a travel soccer level of play, you must make decisions very quickly and execute them with everything you have. You must play aggressively and own everything you do as if you meant to do it that way. Sometimes you will make good decisions and sometimes you will make bad decisions. No matter what kind of decision you make, you must own the decision and give your best effort at all times. We will not yell at you for making a bad decision as long as you do it decisively and aggressively. Instead, we will reward you for your effort and coach you on how to make better decisions.
